The CSP program is a licensing and reseller model enabling businesses to procure, manage, and support Microsoft cloud services (like Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365) through certified partners, who handle billing, support, and provisioning.
Under CSP, your partner becomes your primary contact—they sell the services, manage subscriptions, set pricing and terms, handle billing, and provide support. They may provision resources directly for you via Partner Center or APIs.
CSP supports major Microsoft cloud offerings including:
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
  • Dynamics 365
  • Enterprise Mobility + Security
Partners may also bundle value-added services or support packages tailored to customer needs.
  • Direct CSP: The partner purchases from Microsoft directly and manages everything—including provisioning, billing, and support.
  • Indirect CSP: The partner resells via a distributor (indirect provider), who handles backend operations, while the reseller focuses on sales and customer relationships.
  • Flexibility: No long-term commitments; scale subscriptions up or down month-to-month.
